Pilatus HDR

Pilatus HDR, originally uploaded by the real Caffeamore.

A week ago we hiked from Fräckmündegg to the Top of mount Pilatus. The ascent was quite demanding, the steps were up to 30 cm high. On our lunch break we saw some blueberrries, which made a lovely dessert.

Chamois in Mount Pilatus

When we arrived at the Top, we also saw some chamois. It was the first time I ever saw one out in the Wild. I also shot this picture from the top. There were some paragliders starting from the left, their manoevering looked quite scary and dangerous to me. I felt a lot safer where I stood. What about you? Have you ever been in such a place?

Would you rather go down in a Cable Car or in a Paraglider? Please comment below!

Your wedding nicely photographed by miracle works

The wedding season has started! This was a very tumultuous setting, the weather didn’ t really play along unfortunately. We were all freezing when I took this picture (most of all the bride and me, which made them laugh, and was therefore a good thing:-)).

But even when the weather isn’ t as nice as you’ d hoped, it’ s still good if there are some nice photos there afterwards to remember the extraordinary, exceptional and emotional ‘most beautiful day of your life’. Our wedding couple was not distracted by the weather, they had a blast. This was the first wedding I photographed, so I plan on improving some things, but I’ m quite happy with the result.

Giglio Campese: spiagga, acqua e il faraglione

I’ ve declared my love for this place a few times now, and I can’ t wait to go back. There’ s such a feeling of bliss when you swim in the clean, turqoise water in the baia del Campese, or take the surfboard and go out to the farthest rock you see there, which is called the “faraglione”, or the “tooth” by us. You can also go on foot to that spot. From there you can see the Island of Monte Christo, and if the sight is clear, you even see Sardinia.

Urnersee HDR, shot from Beckenried

Urnersee HDR, originally uploaded by the real Caffeamore.

As some of you might have noticed, I took quite a fancy to panorama shots and HDRs. This is a HDR photo of the Urnersee, shot from Beckenried. The Urnersee is one leg of the Lake Lucerne, near the Rütli, where the birthplace of Switzerland lies. You can purchase this and other photographs to enhance your home. To do so, check out my Whitewall page! What are your thoughts on this view? Have you ever visited the “Ur-Schweiz”?

In Beckenried, there is a great bakery for a stop after one of the beautiful panorama hikes.

Torre in Giglio Campese…a motif for a postcard or a wall

On a rainy weekend like this, I try to think of the sunny spots on earth, like my favourite Island, the Isola Del Giglio. Its name might be familiar to you because of the cruise ship that is still lying there, but I’ ve known the Island for over 20 years. I love the Italian culture, the ocean, the climate and size of the island, the fact that two thirds of it is integral nature reserve and the macchia. Then there is good coffee (like anywhere in Italy) and in autumn you find Porcini. Then take a look at the picture and you’ ll find a couple more reasons why I love this place so much. And I don’ t like the fact that the island’ s pure waters would almost have been polluted and lots of animals would have lost their natural habitat. All for a captain who wanted to show off instead of taking his responsibility seriously.

HDR of Urnersee, Flüelen in the foreground: my pictures on your wall!

In February we made a tour from Flüelen along Lake Lucerne to the Tellsplatte, that historic spot where William Tell escaped from his captors on a stormy night, according to the legend. On the way I took this HDR picture. You can buy it and other motifs on my Whitewall page. Check it out!

fence on Mount Rigi HDR

Rigi fence HDR, originally uploaded by the real Caffeamore.

On a winter’ s day, when the clouds were hanging over the city, we decided to go onto a mountain top to have the sun above and the clouds beneath us. The choice fell upon mount Rigi, and it was one of our most marvellous days this winter! There is nothing to relax you more than the mountain view and air! And some real snow:-)

This is one of the pictures I shot that you can buy. Take a look at the gallery here.
